History of Anderson Mill
Anderson Mill Elementary School fifth grade students enjoyed hearing special guest speaker, Ingrid Norris, share the history of the old Anderson grist mill of which our school is modeled and named. Mrs. Norris, the Outreach Coordinator of the Tyger River Foundation, will be meeting with each class at AMES to not only share the history, but also explain the restoration process. The Tyger River Foundation promotes, protects and restores the natural and historic resources of the Tyger River Basin. We look forward to this partnership! Be sure to ask your child in the coming weeks what he/she learned about the grist mill and it’s role in Spartanburg County’s history.
