Little Bit Fun

AMES teachers are “geared up and ready to go” with new ideas for engaging students in learning after participating in littleBits training. LittleBits are magnetic “Bits” that snap together to turn ideas into inventions, transforming the way kids learn so they can grow up to be tomorrow’s change-makers!


AMES Boys On the Run is a small club for 3rd through 5th grade boys that began for the first time this year. The boys have trained with Coach “H” on how to run a 5K. This group of boys started with running a mile and have worked their way up to running a 5k! Our 5K was held on Thursday, December 13th. All the boys did a great job completing their run!

Computer Science Week

Students are participating in Computer Science Education Week and International Hour of Cod week using Ask your student about using clock coding and their new Computer Science Skills!

Career Fair at AMES

What an amazing Career Fair! Students had a wonderful time learning about all different types of job fields yesterday through engaging presentations given by local volunteers! Careers ranged from dental hygienist, veterinarian, police officer, firefighter, farmer, wedding planner, mechanical engineer, veterinarian technician, chef, attorney, arson investigator, business owner, pilot, chemist, athletic director, lung and heart surgeon, game warden, tennis instructor, medical assistant, phlebotomist, electrical engineer, project engineer, student resource officer, artist, Bomb Squad, nutritionist, and Spartanburg County's own, Sheriff Chuck Wright. WOW!

Steel Drum Patriotic Performance

4th grade students did an amazing job Thursday during their steel drum and patriotic performance! Students showcased what they learned during a four-day artist-in-residence experience with Pantasia Steel Drum Band and honored our veterans through song. Mrs, Roberts, artist-in-residence, praised our students over and over for their great behavior during the residency and was blown away the school's parental support.

AMES Enchanted Forest Literacy Night

AMES families enjoyed reading with enchanted forest characters at our Enchanted Forest Literacy Night held Thursday night. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a fun writing activity, take photos in our enchanted photo booth, and enjoy a sweet treat.

Pantansia Steel Drums Artist in Residence

Students had a great time enjoying Pantasia’s steel drum performance! 4th grade students had the opportunity to participate in a 4-day artist-in-residence experience with Pantasia! They learned all about steel drums from Trinidad while science, social studies, and math standards were integrated.


The rain didn’t stop our AMES students from participating in National Walk at School Day!


4K enjoyed their field trip to Strawberry Hill today! They enjoyed learning about pumpkins and exploring Strawberry Hill!
