Jinger Willard, Fifth Grade




I am so excited to be your child's fifth grade teacher!  I team teach with Mrs. Shackelford.  Students receive Math and Science instruction in my classroom and ELA and Social Studies instruction in Mrs. Shackelford's classroom.  I look forward to working with all of our fifth grade students and families this year!

Students’ homework consists of practice problems of concepts covered in class as and Weekly Math Practice on It's Learning.  A strong grasp of multiplication and division is crucial to understanding fraction concepts in fifth grade.  Students are encouraged to practice their fluency skills on ReflexMath at home.  They may also access ProdigyStudents are given regular assignments on this program to help them review and maintain new skills.  User names and passwords for this program can be found in the student planner.



Science homework consists of studying for tests, finishing classwork and completing projects. Students are highly encouraged to participate in AMES’ Science Fair.  The Science Fair is held in February.  Students who participate receive extra credit towards their science grade during the third nine weeks.
